Privacy Policy

1. The short version

Reso Music is an offline music player. It plays audio files that are already stored on your own device. To do that job it does not need to know who you are, where you are, or what you listen to — so it never asks, and it never sends.

• No account. No email address. No password.
• No analytics, telemetry, crash-reporting or usage tracking SDKs.
• No advertising, and no advertising identifiers.
• No server that your listening history is sent to.
• No selling or sharing of personal information, because none is collected.

The one place personal data can appear is when you email us. That message is handled by our mailbox provider, under section 8.

2. The Reso Music app

The app is published by OCTA DEVS. It runs entirely on your device and communicates with no server of ours while you listen.

What the app stores

The app keeps a small amount of information in its own private storage on your device, so that it behaves the way you left it:

• A cached index of the audio files and folders it can see locally.
• Your playback preferences — shuffle, repeat, volume, playback position.
• The interface appearance you chose, light or dark.

This information stays in the app's private storage. It is not transmitted, and deleting the app removes it. It is also excluded from any device backup you choose to enable at the operating-system level, unless you explicitly include the app.

What the app does not do

• It does not require an internet connection, and it does not phone home when one is available.
• It does not contain advertising or analytics frameworks.
• It does not read your contacts, messages, location, clipboard or browsing history.
• It does not create or modify files outside its own storage area.

3. This website

This website is a static marketing site. It is different from the app, and this section is the part that applies to it.

Local storage

The site stores your light or dark appearance choice in your browser's local storage under the key reso-theme. This never leaves your browser, is not a cookie, is not readable by us, and is not used to identify you. Clearing your browser data removes it.

Server logs

The host serving these files may keep standard server logs — such as IP address, timestamp, requested path and user agent — for security and troubleshooting. These are generated by the hosting provider, not by Reso Music, and are handled under that provider's own policy.

4. Your music files

Audio files stay where they are. The app reads them from local storage in order to play them, and it does not copy, upload, transmit, modify or delete them.

Your file names, folder names, tags and listening history are personal data in the sense that they can be about you. Reso Music has no access to them, because it has no channel through which they could be sent.

Reso Music is not a music distribution service and holds no licence to the music you play. Supplying files to the app is your responsibility and must be lawful where you live. See the Terms of Service.

5. Permissions the app asks for

Reso Music asks only for what it needs to read and play your music, and asks at the moment the permission is needed rather than on first launch.

• Music / media library access — to find the audio files on your device so it can list and play them. Without it the app has nothing to play.
• Background audio playback — to keep playing when the screen is locked or you switch apps.
• Notifications (optional) — only if you enable them, to show playback controls on a lock screen.

You can withdraw any of these in your device settings at any time. The app continues to work with the permissions you keep.

6. Children's privacy

Reso Music is not directed at children under 13, or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction. Because the app collects no personal information from anyone, including children, it does not knowingly collect such information.

If you believe a child has sent us personal information by email, contact us at hello@octadevs.fun and we will delete it.

7. Your rights

Data-protection laws give you rights over your personal information — typically the right to access it, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its processing, and receive it in a portable format. Because Reso Music collects none, there is generally nothing for us to hand over or erase.

Where you do have data with us — an email, for example — you can exercise those rights by writing to hello@octadevs.fun. We will respond as required by the law that applies to us.

You also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.

8. Third-party services

These are the only external parties that can be involved in your use of our work.

• App stores — Reso Music is distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play. They handle your account, payment and installation, and collect data under their own privacy policies.
• Web font delivery (this website only) — typefaces on this site are served by Google Fonts. When your browser requests a font file, Google receives your IP address and user agent. You can avoid this by blocking the request or self-hosting the fonts.
• Web hosting and email (this website and our inbox only) — our host delivers the pages, and our mailbox provider delivers messages sent to hello@octadevs.fun. Both process data under their own privacy terms.

The app itself embeds no third-party advertising, analytics or attribution SDKs.

9. Security

Your music never travels, so there is no transmission for anyone to intercept. On this website, connections are served over HTTPS, and the only preference stored is your appearance choice in local storage.

No system is perfectly secure. If a security issue affecting your data ever affects Reso Music or this site, we will publish a notice here and contact anyone affected.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this page as the app or the site changes. The “Last updated” date at the top always reflects the current version. Material changes will be announced in the app's release notes or on this site.
